Add a hint of color to your outfit with this sophisticated, yet fun, purple zebra print scarf. Nuno felted using hand dyed merino and silk roving, and black silk chiffon, this lightweight scarf is truly a piece of wearable art. Since wool and silk are known for their softness, strength and insulative properties, you can wear this wrap all year long.
This scarf measures 104 inches long by approximately 18 inches wide.
This one of a kind scarf was created using a very time intensive process called Nuno Felting. This technique is relatively new, and was developed by an Australian fiber artist named Polly Stirling in 1992. Nuno is actually the Japanese word for cloth, and the technique binds loose fibers (usually wool), into sheer fibers (like silk in this case) to create an extremely comfortably and light welt felt.
In the case of this gorgeous scarf, each piece of fabric was hand dyed by myself before binding them together into the finished product you see above!
