Keep warm this winter in this green and white silk felted scarf. The green in this winter scarf comes from hand dyed silk hankies that were laid down over a bed of whited merino wool. The white merino wool was then felted trapping the silk on the surface to create a unique design and texture. The softness of this winter wool wrap is unbelievable. Don’t be fooled by the thickness and delicate nature of this scarf. Since silk and merino wool are both known for softness as well as their insulative properties this scarf is sure to keep you cozy warm this winter.
This particular piece measures 75 inches long and about 8 inches wide
This is a one of a kind scarf, and was created using a wet felting technique. Wet felting is one of several methods which can produce felt from wool or other animal fibers.
Wool is a fantastic fiber and is prized for its ability to regulate your temperature during all seasons. Silk is also an extremely breathable material and so all of my wool and silk scarves are specifically designed to keep you warm in the winter and autumn, cool in the spring and summer and stylish all year long.
