Description
Join me on May 2nd at the Pajama Factory in Williamsport, PA to create stunning silk scarves using leaves and other natural materials in this one-day workshop.
Learn how to bundle and wrap your fabric and plant materials so that your prints come out clearly and with maximum color. Discover how color-shifting occurs in the dye bath, how mordants assist the dye process, and how different fabrics and techniques affect the resulting color.
Students will complete THREE full-length silk scarves. All materials are included in the cost of the course. There will also be blank scarves to purchase separately should you have time and want to make more than three while at class.
Bring your lunch, snacks and a drink. There will be about a 1.5 hour break while your scarves are being processes. You are more than welcome to leave and get lunch, hang out or explore the Pajama Factory!
*This is the prerequisite class for Botanical Prints and Logwood and future Advanced Botanical Printing courses. If you have taken any of my botanical printing workshops, at any location, you do not have to take this class again to go into the advance classes. However you are more than welcome to take this class again, as many do! Nothing like learning the basics to gain an understanding of the advanced!
